Distribution of a questionnaire

The second step in the use of a questionnaire / survey consists of its distribution and diffusion. With WinAsks Editor you can use three distribution methods:

• Exporting in text format
• Printing
• Compilation

Exporting in text format

The questionnaire created can be easily exported in text format, so that it can be used in other applications for a subsequent modification (e.g. in a word processor). Using this functionality, you can change the export format, so it suits your needs.

Printing on paper

The questionnaire created can be printed on paper, for a traditional distribution. Every printing option and style is completely customizable (e.g. colors, fonts, ...). You can also automatically create different versions of the same questionnaire, include solutions, print all the questions or a selection of them, both in sequential and random order, etc...

WinAsks Professional is able to show a complete WYSYWYG print preview (what you see is what you get), so that you can see how the questionnaire will look like on paper and produce professional good-looking printed questionnaires.

Compilation

The compilation of a questionnaire is one of WinAsks Editor's most important features. After being compiled, a questionnaire / survey can be directly executed on-screen using the program WinAsks Player. In this way, results are automatically collected and saved, ready for a subsequent visualization and / or analysis. The compilation of a questionnaire is very fast and produces a new file, freely distributable together with the WinAsks Player runtime. There are many options regarding the compilation: one of the most important is the possibility to encrypt your questionnaire, thus making it inaccessible.

A questionnaire can also be compiled directly on diskette: in this case, WinAsks Editor automatically includes the questionnaire, the required files (e.g. images, sounds,...) and the Player, all in a compressed format. Finally it creates an installation program, customized for your questionnaire. At this point, anyone can see, fill in and even print your questionnaire, even if WinAsks isn't available on his/her machine. Of course you can choose which functions you want enabled and which disabled (e.g. disable questionnaire printing).

Moreover SmartLite Software is creating an Add-In, available for free to any registered user, which will allow you to export the questionnaires / surveys in HTML format, ready to be used in internet. In this way, your questionnaire will be available on-line and the results will be automatically delivered to you via e-mail.
